Embroidery

Some logos just do not work as prints. Fine details, thick lettering, club crests with multiple colours, these hold up better when they are stitched directly into the fabric. Embroidery has a weight and a texture that printed branding does not, and for certain garments it is simply the more appropriate finish. Bromely Sports operates in-house embroidery on Tajima machines, which are the Japanese industrial standard for multi-head embroidery production. A design gets digitised first and converted from a vector or image file into a stitch file that tells the machine exactly where each thread goes, in what order, and at what tension. Get the digitising wrong and even a simple logo comes out with puckering, gaps, or thread pulling on the fabric underneath. Polo shirts, hoodies, caps, jackets, team tracksuits, and kit bags are the most common products that come through this department. Club badges, sponsor logos, player names, and academy crests are typical jobs. Some orders combine sublimation on the main body of the garment with embroidery on the chest or sleeve. The two techniques work well together when the design calls for it. Thread colour matching is done against the brand's approved palette before a run starts. A sample gets signed off on first. Nothing goes into bulk production from this department until the stitch-out has been approved and matches what the brand actually wants on their garment.
